H2O DESIGN

Our Approach
Our approach begins with understanding the full heritage context, whether it is a single building, a cultural landscape, an urban site, or a wider historical environment. Each project starts with comprehensive documentation, including on-site surveys, archival research, and an analysis of physical, spatial, and cultural conditions.
As part of this process, we prepare a Statement of Significance, a document that defines the heritage values of the place, identifies what requires preservation, and establishes the key elements that guide all future decisions and design interventions.
From research through planning, we aim for interventions that are minimal, coherent, and sensitive to both tangible and intangible heritage. Our work integrates contemporary needs with the cultural, architectural, and environmental qualities of each site, ensuring that it can continue to function, evolve, and remain meaningful over time.
